Born: 24 March 1978

Birthplace: Livorno, Italy

Representing: Italy

Started in triathlon: 2008

Professional since:

Although he is billed as a former professional cyclist including a stint with the Belgian Quickstep Team (2003) he only rates his five years in cycling as an experience. His athletic career started in soccer when he was 17, then switched to cycling at 18. At 25 he took a sojourn from professional sport, travelling and then working various jobs before taking up triathlon at the age of 30, quickly learnt to swim and started his next professional career. Juggling work and training has been a struggle but years of honing his skills started to pay off in 2014, although he qualified for Kona, turned it down, he couldn’t afford to go.

In 2015 he won Challenge Philippines, Ironman Taiwan, then beat some of the big names including Craig Alexander at 70.3 Putrajaya. His talent saw him join the Bahrain Endurance Racing Team in 2015.

2015     1st Challenge Philippines
