A dual Olympian, Llanos turned his attention to long course racing in 2005. After three DNF’s and a shaky start he found his footing and is now a multiple long distance champion. Second place in 2008 at Kona is one of the highlights along with three Xterra world championship titles. He is a three-time podium finisher at the famed DATEV Challenge Roth and in 2013 finished on the podium in eight of his nine races.
