Luke was hooked on sport from a young age trying numerous sports. He was a state level swimmer and Water Polo, during his early years of triathlon at school Luke represent as a Cross Country runner and Steeplechaser. At just 16 he was chosen in the Australia Duathlon team to compete at World Championships and came up through the Triathlon Australia system with great success including a gold medal at the 2001 Youth Olympics.

He has gone on to win six Ironman titles, the most coveted result a second in Kona in 2013 after leading the race. He was top ten at Challenge Roth in 2014 and continues to pursue long distance titles.
