Race day nutrition by Mark Allen

One of the biggest challenges in triathlons to maximizing your fitness when it counts at the races is coming up with a race day nutrition strategy. In longer races, suboptimal results are more often from an in-race calorie intake plan that didn’t work correctly than any other single reason. So let’s start simple with shorter events and work our way up to the Ironman distance and see how to develop a strategy that will work for you.
