Rachel came from a swimming background until triathlon caught her attention in 2005. Juggling a full time law job and busy training schedule she delivered some promising age group results including a win in her category at the inaugural Ironman 70.3 World Championship. Turning professional in 2008 Rachel has gone on to achieve enormous success on the long distance circuit. Finishing fifth in her first Ironman she backed it up less than a year later with a sixth place in her debut at Kona.
Nicknamed the Joycenator, Rachel is a popular figure in the sport. Based in the US for summer and in Europe for winter. The last 5 years she has been edging ever closer to the top spot in Kona but rates her Challenge Roth win in 2012 as a top three highlight.
